PDF to JPG: what to know
This tool renders each page of a PDF as a JPG image, inside your browser, using the same PDF engine Firefox uses to display PDFs (pdf.js). Your file is never uploaded, so it is safe for statements, contracts and anything else private. Every page becomes one image, exactly as it looks in a PDF reader.
Choose the resolution: 72 DPI for small previews, 150 DPI for screens and slides, or 300 DPI for printing and zooming into fine print. You can convert every page or type a selection such as 1-3, 5, then download a single page or all of them as one ZIP file.
Keep in mind that a JPG is a picture of the page. Its text can't be selected, searched or edited, and JPG compression can soften very small text. For pages that are mostly text or diagrams, PDF to PNG gives sharper results; to get the words themselves, use PDF to Text.
Popular uses
- Sharing a page of a PDF on social media or in a chat
- Putting PDF pages into slides or a document as images
- Making thumbnails or previews of a document
- Sending a page to someone whose device can't open PDFs
Tips for the best result
- 150 DPI is the best balance of quality and file size for most uses.
- Remove a PDF's password in your reader before converting; locked files can't be opened.
- Very large pages are scaled down to keep memory use safe on phones.
