HTML to Word: what to know
This tool turns HTML into an editable Word document without leaving your browser. It reads the structure of the page and rebuilds it with Word's own features: h1 to h6 become Heading 1 to Heading 6, lists become real Word lists with nesting, tables become bordered Word tables (merged columns kept), and links stay clickable. Bold, italics, underline, strikethrough, superscript, subscript, highlighted text and code are kept too.
It doesn't try to reproduce the page's design. CSS colors, fonts, columns, floats and positioning are ignored, and scripts, forms, iframes and embedded media are removed before conversion. The result is a clean document that takes Word's styles, which is usually what you want when content moves from the web into a report or a contract.
Images embedded as data: URIs in PNG, JPG, GIF or BMP go into the document, scaled to fit the page. Images that point to a web address, and WebP or SVG images, are left out, and a note tells you how many.
Popular uses
- Editing content from a web page or web app in Word
- Turning an HTML report or export into a .docx to share
- Moving help-center articles into a Word manual
- Archiving web content as an editable document
Tips for the best result
- Save the page with Ctrl+S (Cmd+S on a Mac) and drop the .html file here.
- If the result includes menus and footers, delete them in Word; they're part of the page body.
- Apply a Word theme afterwards to give the whole document a consistent look.
